Death by cute.

I misplaced my camera and my iPhone is no match for the crappy lighting in this apartment, so I have no photographic evidence to provide.

But I had to paint the picture for you anyway.

The Brothers Jay, as a good friend of mine has named them, are sleeping with their sides pressed up against one another, body feathers all fluffed out, long tails straight back behind them in parallel lines, beaks turned towards each other, eyes squinted shut as if they’d had a hard day, and each resting with his right foot tucked up into downy warmth.

I am really, really going to miss these guys.
